Ami McKay’s debut novel, The Birth House was a # 1 bestseller in Canada, winner of three CBA Libris Awards, nominated for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, and a book club favourite around the world. Her new novel, The Virgin Cure, is inspired by the life of her great- great grandmother, Dr. Sarah Fonda Mackintosh, a female physician in nineteenth century New York. Born and raised in Indiana, Ami now lives in Nova Scotia.

Frances Newman is the CEO of the Annapolis Valley Regional Library and has over 25 years of experience working in both public and academic libraries in Nova Scotia.  Prior to her position in the Annapolis Valley, she had been the Chief Librarian of the Cumberland Regional Library serving northwestern Nova Scotia.

A graduate of Dalhousie's M.L.I.S. program, she is a former Chair of the Dal School of Information Management Associated Alumni and a former President of the Nova Scotia Library Association.

Jocelyne Thompson is Director, Collections Services, UNB Libraries. She holds a BA (Concordia) and an MLS (McGill). Jocelyne was Assistant Director and Director of New Brunswick Public Library Service (1989-2000); CAUL Digital Licensing Coordinator (2002-2013); member of the Canadian Research Knowledge Network's Negotiations Resource Team (2004-2008), and APLA President (2011-12). Nicole Dixon is the electronic resources librarian at Cape Breton University. Her first book, the collection of stories High-Water Mark, was shortlisted for an Atlantic Book Award. An avid gardener, Nicole is also a proponent of open source software as a means of encouraging sustainability through technology. With Saint Mary’s since 1993, Peter Webster has served on management and technical committees for the NOVANET library consortium, the Council of Atlantic University Libraries (CAUL-CBUA), and the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN). He is currently Co-Chair of the External Advisory Committee (EAC) for Statistics Canada’s Data Liberation Initiative, and a member of the CARL Portage Project, Data Discovery Expert Group. He has presented and written widely on library technology topics.
